  • About the Image

"Set in a somber southern Louisiana landscape, the image, Rain, Avery Island, LA, 2020, is from an ongoing body of work drawn in part from Longfellow's epic poem, Evangeline. Adopted as lore by the Cajun communities of the region, this fictional tale of loss, longing, and an unrelenting love, depicts Evangeline's search for her betrothed, Gabriel, when the two young Acadians are torn apart by war."
