About the Image
This Pacific North American fern, with fossil records dating back to 400 million years, is designated “special concern” in British Columbia. While not yet at “high risk” status everywhere, introduced fungal pathogens, extreme weather such as wind, drought and fire, associated with climate change, pose future threats.
